About Laura McCabe
Laura has enjoyed a successful career dancing professionally on Cruise ships, Television, Film and Corporate events before moving on to teaching and choreographing throughout schools and professional dance colleges around the UK including many years at the prestigious Jelli Studios, Liverpool.

Laura’s choreography portfolio is extensive, she has received numerous awards for her work and many of her students have received national and International titles. Her work has been seen on Dance Mums UK, Britains Got Talent, CBBC Taking the next Step winner, All England winners, Dance World Cup winners, Janet Cram winners, Miss Dance finalists, E4, Sky 1 Got To Dance, Cruises, Pantomimes plus many more ongoing choreography projects.

Laura was delighted to receive two awards from the International Dance Teachers Association. Firstly the Arthur J Gallagher award and then the John Knight award for gaining the highest mark in a teaching exam worldwide within the nominated year. Laura is now a Fellow of the IDTA Theatre branch. She is always continuing her professional development and alongside teaching has recently achieved a lifelong dream of becoming an IDTA Examiner.


Laura has many qualifications at the highest level with IDTA in the Theatre branch Four Fellowships, Five Licentiates, Associates, Pre associates, Diplomas and fitness qualifications. Laura also has a 3 Year Musical Theatre Diploma from Dance college plus an enhanced DBS, First Aid, Safeguarding lead, insurance and all the other things that go with running a school which are always updated.

Laura is delighted to have achieved another dream in setting up her own dance school on the beautiful West Wales coast in Aberaeron (a place close to her heart through family).
Due to the rural location I wanted to bring dance, IDTA syllabus and the many other opportunities that a dance school can bring to the local area. I am excited for the school to grow it has been truly rewarding.
Academy Singing Teachers
Local Mezzo-Soprano, llar Toft is the Head of Expressive Arts at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi where she teaches Music and Drama.

She completed her studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London in 2017, returning to West Wales to start her family. She was a pupil at Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi and Ysgol y Preseli, and studied for many years with Buddug Verona James.
​
llar has performed with opera companies in Wales, England and abroad, including the Wales International Academy of Voice, London Symphony Orchestra, Guildhall School of Music & Drama Company and Opra Cymru. Ilar's repertoire includes songs in French, Russian, Italian, German, English and Welsh.
​
Her passion is performing operatic roles on stage, and passing on her knowledge to the next generation of performers. Ilar specialises in vocal technique and can teach a range of genres, from Opera to pop.

Local Soprano Leonie Luff is a classically trained singer and pianist and an experienced Music teacher.
She teaches piano and singing locally and also runs various choirs and a range of music workshops for children.
​
She was awarded a Music scholarship to Llandovery College before going on to study Music in Bath and Bristol. Alongside her studies Leonie was a dedicated member of Bath Opera Company and her career with the company included performing many full scale operas and various roles as leading lady.
​
Leonie completed her teacher training and moved to Devon where she became Head of Music at a performing arts specialist school- King Edward VI Community College. In her role she was musical director of numerous musical theatre productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, Les Miserables and Matilda.

Leonie loves nothing more than combining her love of music with her passion for educating and inspiring young people and she is so thrilled to be able to work with Laura McCabe Dance school on this exciting project.
